52 Project – a photo a week, every week, of each of my two lads

This weekend, this incredibly cool dude did Europe’s longest and fastest zipwire in Snowdonia with me. I’m a big fan of adrenaline sports and rides, and I thought it would be relatively tame, but having done it I can confirm that although it’s not terrifying and it’s a bucketload of fun, at the same time it’s definitely not for the faint hearted. Joe tackled it like a total boss with a smile on his face throughout. There aren’t many kids his age and size have a go on it and the guys who work there were so impressed with him. A very proud moment! After the zipwire we travelled further into the heart of Snowdonia for our first blissful camping trip of the year to the absolutely beautiful Camping In The Forest at Beddgelert in the heart of the mountains. I thought this photo of Joe looking like king of the mountains was very apt for him after his feat of aerial daredevilry.

The day after the zipwire we spent a lovely day in Conwy having a mooch around. Joe, perhaps buoyed by the previous day’s antics, decided to do lots of rolling down the hill from Conwy castle. Huey, always desperate to copy whatever Joe is doing, was dead set on rolling down after him. This is him contemplating the slope ahead of him before launching himself down it!
